Hello to all of my readers (Endosisters and our supporters),
I am still recovering from the effects of exhaustion and moodiness after my surgery. I am able to do a lot more than I could do last month but this is a SLOW process. I am taking Hormone Replacements (HRT) and am honestly not sure if it is regulated yet, hence the moodiness. There are patches I have to change twice a week and a daily pill I need to take. The reason for this is because I had both ovaries removed and am only 38 years old. If I did not take the HRT I would go into early menopause which I am told is BAD! I hope to hear from others who had hysterectomies either from the effects of Endometriosis or other reasons. It is a difficult process to endure regardless of the circumstances and especially if you have not been able to conceive and/or were hoping for other children. I am one of the lucky ones but my heart goes out to the ladies who were robbed of their dreams of giving birth to a baby. I would like to take a moment to encourage anyone who is facing a hysterectomy to check into the option of freezing her eggs if possible. You never know what you might want in the future...peace and love to all XX
This blog will be updated quite a bit since it tells the story of my journey through Endometriosis, surgeries, and hope for those who suffer. I welcome followers, comments and questions. If you suffer from Endo or have a loved one who does, check back often to follow my story and understand what it is like to have Endometriosis.

Thanks for sharing Sheriann. I am 39 and I had a full hysterectomy five years ago to rid myself of this awful disease endometriosis. I'm so glad I did it. (I recommend looking into Endovan before anyone looks into having a hysterectomy; I found it too late but I hear it works) I was very hesitant about it at first because I was never able to conceive but I finally mustered up the courage to go through with it. I was in so much pain almost on a daily basis in the end. Taking HRT is not too bad just one pill a day and 1000mg of Calcium/day for my bones. It has taken me a long time to get back on track but I am finally happy these days. Writing my memoir has helped tremendously; it saved me. Also, I am taking an antidepressant/antianxiety medication. I never believed in meds before but it has made all the difference. Thanks for letting me share. If anyone is interested in reading more of my story you can visit my website at http://www.lostinaseaofmothers.com/ You are not alone!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reaching out Cathie. I am also writing a memoir and it does help :) I will be sure to read your story soon. It is fortunate that the meds helped you. I am waiting to feel like the hormaones are working properly if that does not happen within a reasonable amount of time, I too will check into meds. Thanks for the reminder to take calcuim. I keep forgetting even though I bought a huge bottle! Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. XX Sheri
