Do You Have Endometriosis too?

I am 38 years old and most likely have had Endometriosis since I was a teenager but just did not know it.  I have always had painful menstruation but thought that all women had a similar degree of pain.  Being in pain and having a heavy flow just seemed normal to me.  It seemed as if most women complained about their periods and I was under the impression that maybe I was just being a "baby" about it when I would have to miss work or other events due to extreme pain, nausea, vomiting and dizziness accompanied by fever and/ or chills.  It was not until about four years ago, when I was trying to conceive, that I was FINALLY diagnosed with Endometriosis.  Since I was already blessed with a son, when I was 23 years old, the idea that I could have this disease never crossed my mind.  Although I had heard of it, all of the ladies I knew who had it, were unable to have children.  Needless to say when I heard the nasty ugly word "Endometriosis" I lost all hope of having another baby which was tough because being a mom to my teenager is my whole world and I have loved watching my son grow up and wanted to continue having children.  Well, my story has a happy ending.  My second son was born last year.  My story is rather remarkable so I am told.  I will certainly tell more soon, but now my little miracle is waking up from his nap.
